ILDNR talks about SU involvement with fin clip

IDNR Director Wayne Rosenthal thanked Salmon Unlimited volunteers for 30 years of service to the Jake Wolf Fish Hatchery this week. Every year, the volunteers help clip fins of thousands of salmon bound for Lake Michigan in May. The clips help identify the state that stocked the fish and when. The identifying clips help biologists learn more about fish movements and growth rates. Thanks to all the volunteers.
